The Government will review the draft amendment to Law Number 30 Year 2002 on the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) proposed by the House of Representatives (DPR), Minister of Law and Human Rights Yasonna H. Laoly has said.

“I was given a draft amendment to Law on KPK by President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo. I need to read it first, “said Yasonna in Jakarta, Monday (9/9).

He added that President Jokowi instructed him to review and to study the amendment carefully.

Some important points in the draft amendment to the Law include the existence of the KPK Supervisory Board and the permission of the KPK to stop investigating and prosecuting corruption case if it is not completed within a maximum period of one year. (ANT/ES)
