Keep the Authority of the State, President Jokowi Will Add the Defense Budget

President Jokowi, accompanied by Defense Minister Ryamizard Ryacudu, and Army Chief of Staff Gen. Gatot Nurmantyo reviewing the exhibition of alutsista, in Jakarta, Wednesday (17/12)

President Jokowi reiterated the government’s commitment to improve everything, including maintaining the authority of Indonesia as a big country.

“We want this country to have authority, and the main weaponry system/defense equipment (alutsista) that we had I think indicates that way, that Indonesia is a big country and we should have the authority,” President Jokowi said to journalists, when reviewing the exhibition of defense equipment (alutsista) of Indonesian Army (TNI AD) in Silang Monas, Jakarta, Wednesday (17/12) afternoon.

President expressed his appreciation to the people who saw the exhibition of defense equipment (alutsista), because it also foster a sense of community pride to the Indonesian Army (TNI) because they’ve seen it all, tanks, attack helicopters, transport helicopters, guns, everything.

“Almost everything we have, also related to the drones. The weapons are also complete and modern, ” President  Jokowi said.

According to the President, he saw the people are very proud of having Indonesian Army (TNI). Such Sense of belonging that really wanted to be presented in this exhibition, so as to foster a spirit of defending the country

Add the Budget

Answering a reporter’s question about the possibility of the country’s defense budget increase, President Jokowi ensure that he will add another budget in the State Budget Changes (APBN-P) 2015.

“Everything is important, because everything is still lacking, either on land, air, and sea. Everything is still lacking and we will continue to add,” President Jokowi said.(Humas Setkab/ES)
