Musicians to Organize “Music for Republic”

A number of musicians are planning to organize a musical event called “Musik Untuk Republik (Music for Republic)” on 18-20 October 2019 at Cibubur Camping Ground.

“The point is, we are all unite here, upholding the unity of Indonesia and its diversity. (Through this event) We would like to deliver message to the people of Indonesia that we must unite. The musical event will be held on 18-20 October 2019 at Cibubur Camping Ground,” said Raden Soedjono as representative of musicians who met President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo at Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java Province, Monday (30/9).

Meanwhile, Sandy from Pas Band said that 68 musicians will perform at the event.

“We are all aware that Indonesia experiences some conflicts and crisis lately, thus we want to be united again through music,” Sandy added.

He went on to say that unity and integrity can create a better Indonesia and music is the most effective medium to achieve it.

“President Jokowi gave full support on this,” Sandy said, adding that the event was fully funded by the musicians for the sake of Indonesia.

He expressed hope that the musical event will deliver positive impact to the public. “Through music, we wish to unite the country.”

In the meantime, President Jokowi himself is slated to attend the event.
