President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Friday (6/12)  began a working visit to Banten province to inaugurate polyethylene plant owned by publicly-listed petrochemical company PT. Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk and Kunciran-Serpong Toll Road.

The President is also scheduled to inspect the implementation of the Fostering the Economy of the Prosperous Family program (known as Mekaar) developed by state-owned community development institution PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM) as well as Cilegon Regional Hospital.

The new polyethylene factory is the expansion project of the first PT. Chandra Asri Petrochemical and projected to increase eproduction capacity of the existing factory up to 400,000 tons per year, making the total capacity of the factory reach 736,000 tons per year.

Accompanying President Jokowi during the visit were Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, Minister of Health Terawan Agus Putranto, Minister of State-owned Enterprises Erick Thohir, Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko, Presidential Special Staff Billy Mambrasar and Adamas Belva Syah Devara.
