President Jokowi Begins E. Kalimantan Working Visit
President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Tuesday (17/12) departed for East Kalimantan province for a working visit.
President Jokowi and his entourage left Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, Jakarta, aboard the Indonesia-1 presidential aircraft at around 07.30 Western Indonesian Time and landed at Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman Sepinggan International Airport, Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, at 10.45 Western Indonesian Time.
The President is scheduled to meet with community leaders, religious leaders and local traditional leaders before heading to Samboja toll gate to inaugurate the Samboja-Samarinda section of the Balikpapan-Samarinda (Balsam) toll road. He is also scheduled to inspect the toll road section.
In the afternoon, the President is scheduled to inspect the location of the new capital in the forest concession area (HPH) of PT. ITCI in Sepaku District, North Penajam Paser Regency.
Also accompanying President Jokowi during the visit were Minister of State-owned Enterprises Erick Thohir, Minister of National Development Planning (PPN)/Head of National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) Suharso Monoarfa, Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, and Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung.
