Holds the Limited Meeting, President Jokowi Asks the Progress Report of AirAsia QZ8501 Evacuation

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) accompanied by Vice President Jusuf Kalla, Wednesday (31/12) morning, chaired the  limited meeting that devoted to discuss of the search progress of  AirAsia plane-QZ8501, which crashed in the waters of Pangkalan Bun, Central Kalimantan.

In his introduction, President Jokowi argued, after looking directly into the scene (Pangkalan Bun) related to SAR operations to AirAsia, he already saw clearly the difficulty of field conditions that faced.

“But Alhamdulillah since yesterday until today everything is going well,” said President Jokowi.

Therefore, in  the limited meeting, President Jokowi asks more detailed report related matters, either with the operation or the weather, and other possibilities.

The Cabinet limited meeting were followed by a number of officials, including the Minister of Transportation Ignatius Jonan, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Cabinet Secretary Andi Wijayanto, Minister of Higher Education and Research and Technology M. Nasir, the Army Commander General Moeldoko, National Police Chief Gen. Sutarman, Basarnas Chief Marshal Henry Bambang Sulistyo, BMKG Chief Dr. Andi Eka Sakya, M.Eng, and Bakamla Chief  Admiral Maritime Dr. D.A. Mamahit M.Sc. (Humas Setkab/ES)
