President Jokowi Inaugurates Newly-Repaired School in Pekanbaru

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Friday (21/2) inaugurated the newly-repaired building of State Islamic Junior High School (MTsN) 3 Pekanbaru, as part of his working visit to Riau Province.

“By saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim (in the name of Allah, the most gracious and the most merciful) and asking for the grace of Allah, this morning I inaugurate the newly-repaired building of State Islamic Junior High School (MTsN) 3 Pekanbaru, Riau” President Jokowi said.

After the inauguration, President Jokowi signed an inscription and handed over volleyballs to the representatives of students of the school. The President also inspected rooms and facilities in the MTsN 3 Pekanbaru.

For the record, the renovation of MTsN 3 Pekanbaru has been conducted using Rp14 billion budget, which was included in the renovation package with MTsN 1 Dumai (with budget of Rp4.3 billion). The total budget for the renovation of the two aforementioned schools was Rp17.3 billion.

MTsN 3 Pekanbaru has a total of 28 classrooms, 3 computer laboratories, 1 science laboratory, 1 language laboratory, 1 room for science competition coaching and 1 room for student counseling.

Also present during the event were, among others, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko, Governor of Riau Syamsuar, and Mayor of Pekanbaru, Firdaus. (RSF/EN)
