Washing Hands with Soap, Flowing Water More Effective: Gov’t Spokesperson
The Government’s spokesperson for covid-19 management Achmad Yurianto said that one of the effective ways to prevent the spread of covid-19 is by washing hands with soap and flowing water.
“Wash your hands with soap. You don’t have to use hand sanitizer. Washing hands with soap is more effective than washing hands with hand sanitizer,” Yuranto said in Jakarta, Wednesday (25/3).
According to him, by washing hands with soap and flowing water, one can cleanse all parts of the hands, adding that washing hands with hand sanitizer will only cleanse the palm of the hands and will not reach the back of the hands.
Another important way is by practicing physical distance, he said.
Physical distancing in social interaction, according to Yuri, should not only be done when one is outside the home but inside the home as well.
Furthermore, he said that one feels ill, they have to put on a face mask,” he said.
“We can’t afford to get ill,” Yuri said, while urging the public to stay positive amid the outbreak. (UN/EN)
