COVID-19: Gov’t to Implement Online Pre-Hajj Manasik Guidance
The Indonesian Government through Ministry of Religious Affairs has decided to implement online pre-hajj manasik guidance for 1441Hijri/2020AD prospective pilgrims.
This decision was made by Directorate General of Hajj and Umrah Management (PHU) of Ministry of Religious Affairs, following the implementation of large-scale social restriction (PSBB) to prevent the COVID-19 spread in Indonesia.
“Due to prohibition on activities involving crowds, as an alternative, the pre-hajj manasik will be held online,” the PHU Director-General Nizar Ali said on an online discussion, Friday (10/4).
In the past years, the pre-hajj manasik was mentored classically at the District Office of Religious Affairs (KUA).
Nizar also advised that the manasik counselors could improve their abilities so that they could conduct the pre-hajj manasik guidance online.
He also added that the Ministry is also preparing for an audiovisual-based pre-hajj manasik guidance which later can be downloaded on haji.kemenag.go.id or kemenag.go.id.
On the occasion, Nizar also instructed all PHU Section Heads of the City Office to the Ministry of Religious Affairs as well as the pre-hajj manasik counselors to the KUA to disseminate information on the policies of the Ministry related to the implementation of the hajj pilgrimage.
In addition, the Ministry will also optimize the efforts by providing service for pre hajj manasik guide book delivery as well as using mass media to educate the prospective pilgrims on it.
It aims to provide optimal preparation for prospective pilgrims. Based on the Ministry of Religious Affairs Hajj Travel Plan (RPH), the prospective pilgrims will begin departing on 26 June 2020.(Ministry of Religiou Affairs PR/EN)
