Gov’t to Open Registration of Pre-Employment Card Batch II

The Indonesian Government has announced the batch II of Pre-Employment Card registration.
“The second batch will be opened from Monday, 20 April at 8 a.m. Western Indonesian Time to Thursday, 23 April at 4 p.m. Western Indonesian Time,” Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said to the press in Jakarta, on Thursday (16/4).
Airlangga stated that the registration will be opened weekly until the 4th week of November 2020. “On the first batch, at least 200,000 participants have joined (the program),” he said.
The Government is scheduled to announce the participants of batch I on Friday, 17 April 2020. On the same day, the participants will be given access to online trainings in eight digital platforms partners. The participants can utilize the Pre-Employment Card to pay their trainings, using a 16-digit unique number.
“To those who have not been accepted, they can join the next batch. There is no need to repeat the whole registration process, just choose which batch you want to join,” Airlangga explained.
Each recipient of the Pre-Employment Card receives a total benefit package of Rp3,550,000, consisting of Rp1,000,000 in training costs that can be used to purchase one or more training in digital platform partners.
“The incentives will be transferred to the LinkAja, Ovo or GoPay e-wallet accounts of the participants,” Airlangga said.
The incentive consists of 2 parts. First, the first post-completion training incentive amounts to Rp2,400,000, consisting of Rp600,000 per month. “Second, there is a post-filling incentive, which is an evaluation survey of Rp50,000 per survey. There are 3 surveys totaling to Rp150,000,” Airlangga said.
Airlangga asserted that participants could take further trainings if they have completed the first training. In addition, the training will be forfeited if, within 30 days of being determined as a recipient, the participant has not used the Pre-Employment Card for the first training.
The first remaining training cost assistance can be used for the second or third training until 31 December 2020. “Please optimize this opportunity and we must remain optimistic by doing productive activities including taking trainings in this Pre-Employment Card program,” Airlangga said.
To date, there are 2,000 types of online training from 198 training institutions that work together with 8 digital platforms. Airlangga urged the participants to start visiting digital platform sites, comparing prices, and choosing the type of training according to their interests or needs.
The implementing management and the platforms will focus on increasing the numbers and variety of types as well as training institutions. Offline or face-to-face training will be carried out after the Government evaluates security aspects and lifts social restrictions.
“Statistics show that the enthusiasm of the people on the Pre-Employment Card program is very high,” he said.
As of Thursday (16/4), the data recorded that there were 5,923,350 registrants, with 3,269,445 (55%) National Identity Number verified, and 2,061,500 joined the first batch of registration.
The Regional Government, through the Manpower Office, the Industry and Trade Office, the Tourism Office, and the SMEs Cooperative Office, will help provide registration assistance and several computers to the people at the location determined by the Regional Government in order to participate in the chosen trainings.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, only online trainings will be available. In addition, local governments set standards that ensure safety, to make sure that its implementation is in line with physical distancing policy.
