Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,

Good morning,

May prosperity be upon us all.

Distinguished Vice President,

Ladies and Gentlemen.

We need to prepare for the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (GPDRR) to be held in 2022. This is a biennial forum, a biennial forum initiated by the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) to review the progress of various knowledge, to discuss the latest developments and trends in disaster management.

This forum will be attended by 193 countries. This will be a large forum which will be attended by approximately 5,000-7,000 participants. Therefore, it must be well prepared. Indonesia as the host has a wealth of experience in hosting various international conferences, and it has been decided that this conference will be held in Bali in 2022.

And it is also important to make the most of this world-scale conference for our national interest, as well as to reaffirm Indonesia’s role in reducing global disaster risk. And, of course, we can use the visit of participants from 190 countries as a momentum to promote Indonesian tourism.
