The Government is seeking public comments on the drafts of Job Creation Law implementing regulations, according to Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto.

“In accordance with the directive of President Joko Widodo, the Government provides access for input and advice from the public and all stakeholders to accommodate the public interest, in line with the objectives of the creation of Job Creation Law,” the Coordinating Minister said on Sunday (8/11).

The Government is currently drafting all implementing regulations in the form of Government Regulation Draft (RPP) and Presidential Regulation Draft (RPerpres). Based on the results of coordination of relevant Government Ministries and Agencies, there are 44 implementing regulations for the Job Creation Law, consisting of 40 Government Regulation Drafts (RPP) and 4 Presidential Regulation Drafts (RPerpres).

To accommodate the input and advice, and to provide space for discussion with the public, the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs has established the official portal of Job Creation Law, which can be accessed by the public at https://uu-ciptakerja.go.id.

“Through the official portal of Job Creation Law, the Government officially invites all communities, the public, and related stakeholders to convey their advice related to the implementation of Job Creation Law, so that the drafting of the RPP and RPerpres will be accountable and involving active public participation,” Airlangga said.

All related Ministries/Agencies will also carry out dissemination, publication and public consultation on the substance of the implementing regulation drafts in Jakarta and in other regions.

The Job Creation Law aims to create jobs and encourage business improvement by providing various facilities, protection and empowerment, as well as various business incentives for cooperatives and MSMEs as well as for corporations and national industries to be able to create jobs and absorb Indonesian workers as many as possible.

The Job Creation Law is also expected to support measures to restore the national economy amid the COVID-19 pandemic, strengthen the economy of Indonesia and improve its competitiveness in the global competition. (PR of Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs/UN)
