In order to support the fostering of Indonesian Government translators and interpreters (known as “Functional Official of Translators/Interpreters” or PFPs), Cabinet Secretariat held dissemination on e-JFP information system virtually from Building 3 of Ministry of State Secretariat, Jakarta, Monday (30/11).

The e-JFP that was launched by Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung in July provides government translators/interpreters across the country with information on JFP (Functional Position of Translators) as well as the upcoming events. It can be accessed through e-JFP website and mobile app.

The dissemination is virtually attended by PFPs working in central and regional governments, as well as by staff and officials of the Cabinet Secretariat.

Cabinet Secretariat as the fostering institution for JFP understands the importance of developing an information system, Deputy Cabinet Secretary for Administrative Affairs Faried Utomo said as quoted by Head of Cabinet Secretariat’s Government Translators and Interpreters Development Center (Pusbinter) Sri Wahyu Utami.

The web and app development is also in line with the mandate of Regulation of Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform Number 49 of 2014 which lastly amended to Regulation Number 1 of 2016 on Functional Translator Position, namely to develop an information system.

“In adapting to new industrial era and digitalization in various sectors, Cabinet Secretariat develops the e-JFP web and app to prepare the translators and interpreters, either as a civil servant or as a public servant,” the Deputy added.

Cabinet Secretariat, he said, will continue to make some breakthroughs in fostering the PFPs. With this dissemination, they are expected to utilize, monitor, and disseminate the development and information provided in the information system to their fellow translators and the public.

For the record, users of e-JFP can access a database of information about PFPs across Indonesia. In addition, this information system is also utilized to disseminate information regarding the fostering and development of JFP to the public and translators/interpreters, to facilitate communication between the Cabinet Secretariat and stakeholders, and to provide materials that can be used by translators/interpreters for their skills development.
