President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has urged business players not to give up amid difficult circumstances following a drop in business turnover in the throes of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The most important thing is not to give up. It’s fine to have a small profit, but the businesses must keep running. Because at some point, this pandemic will end and the situation will return to normal,” the President said during the handover of working capital assistance (BMK) at the Central Courtyard of the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday (06/01).

For the record, the Head of State handed over the working capital assistance to 58 micro and small entrepreneurs from a number of areas in capital Jakarta with each recipient receiving Rp2.4 million.

On that occasion, the President also pointed out that national vaccination is set to kick off next week and he will become the first person to receive the jab.

“This’s to ensure that the vaccine’s safe and halal,” he said.

The President also expressed belief that the Government can carry out the vaccination so the situation can return to normal.

“Let’s pray together so that the economy, businesses will return to normal,” he said. (TGH/UN) (MUR/EP)
