Distinguished Cabinet Ministers, Governor of Bank Indonesia, Governor of North Sumatra, Regent of Dairi as the host, creative workers in North Sumatra, the traditional and community leaders of North Sumatra;
Ladies and gentlemen.
Following the success of the “Proud of Indonesian Products” National Movement (Gernas BBI), this year’s BBI will focus more on developing regional potential. In 2020, the Gernas BBI succeeded in inviting more than 3.8 million creative workers and MSMEs for onboarding to the e-commerce platform to be able to expand the market potential to the national market and even foreign countries.
The Lake Toba area is a super priority tourism destination. The area has tremendous potential to be developed. Lake Toba’s creative workers and MSMEs are well-known, for example, for ulos which has gone global and the famous Sidikalang coffee. The area is also beautiful with its stretch of volcanic lake. The combination of tourism and the creative economy deserves to be echoed to the national and the global stages and is expected to be able to revive the Indonesian economy through the digital industry.
To that end, I proudly and officially launch the “Buy Creative Products of Lake Toba” campaign. The campaign will be coupled with training and assistance for creative workers and MSMEs to really advance in the digital industry, not only being able to onboarding on the marketplace.
In the meantime, with the launch of “Buy Creative Products of Lake Toba”, the Government also introduced the Tourism Hub Network application or JP Hub. The application will provide information for searching and booking destinations from provincial to village level, complete with tourist attractions. It is time for Indonesian tourism to grow with its creative economy.
Horas!
Mejuah-juah!
