President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Friday (19/03) inspected mass COVID-19 vaccination at Puri Begawan building in the West Java city of Bogor.

“I just inspected the vaccination process, from registration, screening, vaccine injection, and observation. Everything went well,” he said after the inspection.

The vaccination targeted approximately 500 people, consisting of public service workers, hajj pilgrims, religious leaders, and public figures.

The Head of State expressed hope that mass vaccinations in several regions in Indonesia can accelerate national vaccination process.

“Yesterday in Makassar city (and) Tana Toraja regency, the vaccination was also carried out. Today in Bogor city, mass vaccination is also carried out here and in other places,” he said, while expressing hope that herd immunity can be formed and the pandemic can be controlled with mass vaccinations.

“We hope that with more people who have been vaccinated, herd immunity will be formed and we hope we can curb COVID-19 transmission rate in our country,” he remarked.

Joining the President during the visit were Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Governor of West Java Ridwan Kamil, and Mayor of Bogor Bima Arya. (FID/UN) (DH/EP)
