Remarks of President of the Republic of Indonesia at Mass COVID-19 Vaccination for Teachers on 18 March 2021 at Dalton Hotel Makassar, South Sulawesi Province
Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,
This afternoon I am visiting Makassar to inspect the vaccination held in the city by the Mayor and Governor.
All (people who have been vaccinated) are teachers. Five hundred, approximately 500 teachers were vaccinated. And we hope that once all 8,000 teachers in Makassar have been vaccinated, we hope there will be tryouts for limited in-school learning. Then in July, schools will reopen, but in-school learning will be limited. We will evaluate whether full-time in-school learning is possible in the following months.
We hope the vaccination is not only carried out in South Sulawesi province, in Makassar, but also in other provinces. I have ordered immediate vaccination, primarily for senior citizens and public service workers, so that the vaccination process can be faster and more people are vaccinated each day. We hope we can reduce COVID-19 transmission rate in our country.
That concludes my speech.
I thank you.
Wassalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh. (DH/MEP)
