Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,

Ladies and Gentlemen,

The COVID-19 pandemic is not over yet in our country. Therefore, we must stay highly vigilant. We cannot let our guards down. We cannot underestimate COVID-19.

Indeed, the curve of COVID-19 cases in the country has flattened since micro-scale public activity restrictions were in place and vaccination programs began. Indeed, the recovery trend continues to go upward and even today the number of active cases is 100,000. There has also been a drop in the number of daily cases, but do not be overconfident yet. Do not be overoptimistic. Do not feel as if the situation is under control. Do not feel safe yet. Not yet.

Measures to curb active cases must be carried on and it highly depends on the discipline of us all in observing health protocols.

Yes, all of us, including those who have been vaccinated and those who have been vaccinated, as well as those in Red Zones, Orange Zones, Yellow Zones, and Green Zones must observe health protocols; wear a mask, maintain a safe distance, and wash hands.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Our ability to curb the COVID-19 transmission has begun to boost economic activities in the regions. I suppose we must maintain this momentum together. I order governors, regents, and mayors to continue to remind the public to be disciplined in observing health protocols and to synergize with the Central Government by banning mudik around the time of this year’s Eid.

Once again, let me underscore that public safety and health are our number one priority. Stay disciplined in observing health protocols. Do not let your guards down. Do not underestimate (COVID-19) and remain vigilant. God willing, we can go through these trying times together.

I thank you. (DH/EP)
