President Jokowi, First Lady Iriana Greet VP Virtually on Eid Day

After Eid al-Fitr prayer, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and First Lady Iriana greeted Vice President Ma’ruf Amin and his spouse Wury Ma’ruf Amin on virtual silaturrahim (amicable meeting) from the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java, Thursday (13/05).

“Assalamu’alaikum Mr. Vice President and Mrs. Wury, Happy Eid Mubarak, I apologize for my mistakes,” President Jokowi said.

“I also wish you, Happy Eid Holiday. I apologize for my mistakes,” the First Lady added.

The President and Vice President asked each other about the health conditions of their families on this year’s Eid al-Fitr which is still being celebrated in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

On the same occasion, Mrs. Wury also said her Eid greetings to the President and the First Lady.

The President also revealed that on this year’s Eid al Fitr celebration, they were not accompanied directly by their children. “All of them are outside the city, maybe we’ll meet in a week or so,” he said. (Presidential Secretariat/UN) (FI/MMB)
