How We End Pandemic Depends On Us All, Minister Says
The end of the COVID-19 in Indonesia will depend on necessary measures taken by all parties, according to Minister of Health Budi.
“I have seen the pattern of this pandemic. It all depends on us. When the pandemic will be over heavily depends on us. The spike in cases so much depends on us. The number of people, our relatives, and health workers being hospitalized also depends on us,” he said in a statement, Friday (25/6).
The Minister went on to say that the discipline in observing health protocols is also crucial to bring us out of the pandemic.
“The pandemic will end faster if we remain disciplined in implementing health protocols, including by wearing a face mask, maintaining physical distancing, avoiding crowds, and regularly washing hands,” he said.
Budi also appealed to the public to stay at home as ordered by the Government to protect themselves and all Indonesian people from the transmission of COVID-19.
“Let’s just stay at home during these hard times because it can protect ourselves, our beloved family, our neighbors, all Indonesian people, and everyone in the world,” he appealed.
The Minister also expressed belief that the Indonesian nation would go through these trying times if all components of the nation remain focused on spreading positive energy and join hands in handling the pandemic according to their respective capacities.
“The Government cannot handle it all alone. We need supports from all stakeholders, all components of the nation – regional governments, journalists, the public, and the private sector. We must work together. I believe that the social capital of the Indonesian nation is enormous. As long as we can nurture this solidarity, I am sure Indonesia can overcome the pandemic with the energy we have,” he said. (DND/UN) (RIF/EP)
