Remarks of President Joko Widodo on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Community during Inspection Visit to Center of Tourism and Trade Information (PIPP) on 7 September 2021, in Blitar, East Java Province

Today, I come to Blitar to inspect vaccination program held in this city. I am glad to hear that 76 percent of the community has been vaccinated, as informed by the Deputy Mayor of the City. It means that only a small number of the community will be vaccinated soon.

I would like to thank the people who were so enthusiastic to get vaccinated because as we are aware that COVID-19 is not going to disappear immediately. So, what we can do is to control the spread of it. Do not let any exponential rise occur due to this Corona Virus.

Therefore, once again, although we have been vaccinated, do not be ignorant of the health protocols and do not forget to wear your mask. We are also aware that new variants are reported, such as Delta variant and recently Mu variant. It is something we never expected before.

Therefore, once again, we need to speed up the vaccination program and we have to continue implementing the health protocols.
