Remarks of President of the Republic of Indonesia During Inspection of Door-to-Door COVID-19 Vaccination, September 16, 2021, at Emplasmen Village, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra Province

This afternoon, I together with Head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), Commander of the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI), Governor, and Regent of Deli Serdang are visiting Emplasmen village, Beringin subdistrict, Deli Serdang regency.

This afternoon, we carry out door-to-door vaccination for communities to ensure that the distribution of vaccine and the acceleration of vaccination run smoothly in all provinces, all regencies, and all cities across the country.

The door-to-door vaccination is a form of direct service for communities, by encouraging community members to get vaccinated. We hope it will accelerate vaccination, supporting vaccination carried out by hospitals, regional governments, the TNI and Indonesian National Police (Polri), and community health centers. We want to ensure that all people get vaccinated and we can immediately prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The program will facilitate the public to access the vaccine, especially for those who have difficulties to access it. [The vaccinators] will visit communitiesin hamlets and villages. It will also provide protection to communities, so that they can immediately carry out their normal activities.

Finally, in the future, we will invite the public to live side by side with COVID-19. It means that health protocol is the key, vaccination is the key. Thus, I invite the public to continue wearing face masks. If you haven’t got vaccinated, get vaccinated as soon as possible.

I think that concludes my remarks and I really appreciate the enthusiasm of the people in Deli Serdang who participate in door-to-door vaccination. I hope that it will accelerate and increase the vaccination rate in North Sumatra province.
