President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo arrived at Soekarno Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, Banten province, Friday (05/11), from his eight-day overseas work visits to three countries—Italy, the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates.

However, this time around, there were no official protocols to welcome the President and his entourage at the airport.

In response to this, Head of the Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono explained that according to the applicable regulations, every Indonesian citizen who had just returned home from an overseas trip is required to undergo quarantine for three days.

“Therefore, the President will immediately undergo self-quarantine at the Bogor Presidential Palace along with the entourage,” said Heru.

In the meantime, Head of the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) who also helms the COVID-19 Handling Task Force Ganip Warsito explained that President Jokowi will carry out a PCR test upon arrival at the quarantine site, wear a mask, avoid in-person activities, and carry out the second PCR test on the third day of the quarantine.
