Remarks of President of the Republic of Indonesia at the Peak Commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the Indonesian Civil Servant Corps (KORPRI), 29 November 2021
Bismillahirrahmanirrahim.
Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,
May peace and prosperity be upon us all,
Om Swastiastu,
Namo Buddhaya,
Greetings of virtue.
Distinguished Ministers of the Indonesia Onward Cabinet,
Honorable Chairperson of the Indonesian Civil Servant Corps (KORPRI), its ranks and management throughout Indonesia, KORPRI members,
Esteemed Guests,
To all KORPRI members wherever you are, particularly those serving the borders, remote areas, outermost islands throughout Indonesia, I wish to congratulate you a Happy 50th Anniversary of the KORPRI. I appreciate KORPRI for the services, dedication, and hard work in serving the public and ensuring the governance.
Members of KORPRI spread throughout the country are the ones who unite the nation and affirm the state’s presence to provide services to the public far and wide.
Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen,
Dedication of each member of KORPRI to the nation and state should not stop. Public expectations are rising, changes become more complex, new challenges may emerge abruptly as a result of technology development, disaster or pandemic.
To face these challenges, KORPRI must continue to transform, to affirm the act of service as civil servants, to serve the state, to innovate and develop new ways of work that are more efficient, adapt to the development of science and technology, to provide effective solution in short time, so their presence can be felt by the public. All KORPRI members must stand at the frontline in carrying out bureaucratic reforms, scrapping regulations that hamper services, simplifying organization to be more agile, eliminating sectoral egos, and cutting red tape, as well as making the service process faster.
Technology development must be utilized for greatest benefits. The development of digital technology must be utilized wisely. Realization of one data and e-government must be accelerated. Likewise, manifestation of simplified organization and excellence human resources must be accelerated so that the members of KORPRI can be more responsive and innovative in providing fast, efficient, and effective services to the public.
Distinguished Members of KORPRI,
On this auspicious occasion, allow me to deliver several points of note.
First, all members of KORPRI regardless of their positions in office must uphold one core value, namely provide the best services for the public. Keep upholding the core values of state civil apparatus; service orientation, accountability, competency, harmony, loyalty, adaptability, and collaboration.
Second, make sustainable breakthroughs and innovations, as well as change your mindset and ways of work. Avoid inefficiency and complication. There are many problems that cannot be solved by one sector alone. Thus, all units, ministries or institutions must collaborate across organizations, across regions, across fields of science, across professions. Do apply e-government to increase the speed and credibility of services.
Third, maintain and strengthen integrity of public apparatus. Create a more transparent and accountable bureaucracy. Don’t make things complicated. Don’t take illegal levies and increase burden of our people. Create a clean government that is free from corruption, collusion and nepotism.
Fourth, enhance your roles as the ones who strengthen the unity and integrity, safeguard the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, the 1945 Constitution, and national motto “Bhinneka Tunggal Ika” (Unity in Diversity). Build strong cooperation with all components of the nation and together manifest an advanced Indonesia that we are longed for.
That concludes my remarks on this auspicious occasion.
Long Live the Indonesian Civil Servant Corps (KORPRI)!
I thank you.
Wassalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
Om santi santi santi om.
Namo Buddhaya.
