Bismillahirrahmanirrahim,

Assalaamu’alaikum warahmatullaahi wabarakaatuh,

Distinguished Minister of Public Works and Public Housing and all ministers in attendance,

Distinguished Governor of West Nusa Tenggara province and Regent of West Sumbawa regency,

Distinguished Leaders and Members of the House of Representatives in attendance,

Distinguished farmers and public figures,

Bintang Bano dam is the 29th dam that we have inaugurated since 2015. God willing, by the end of 2024, there will be 57 dams across Indonesia.

Why did we build these dams?

Food security, food independence, food sovereignty will only be achieved if all provinces have water. The key is water. And water will be available if we have as many dams as possible. That is why we are building these dams.

And thank God, today the construction of Bintang Bano dam, which has been under way since 2015 with a budget of Rp1.44 trillion, has been completed and the dam can now be operated. This dam is one of six dams built in West Nusa Tenggara province. We have inaugurated two of the dams, namely Tanju and Mila dams that we inaugurated in 2018.

We hope this dam will sustain water supply in West Sumbawa regency, support food security in West Nusa Tenggara province, and fulfill the need for raw water, especially in dry areas in the province.

Bintang Bano dam has a huge capacity of 76 million cubic meters with an inundation area of 256 hectares and it can water 6,700 hectares of rice field.

That concludes my statement. And by saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, this morning I hereby inaugurate Bintang Bano dam in West Sumbawa regency, West Nusa Tenggara province.
