President Jokowi to Lead Groundbreaking Ceremony of Muara Enim Downstream Project

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Monday (01/24) began working visit to South Sumatra province.

The President and his entourage took off from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in East Jakarta at around 07.20 Western Indonesian Time aboard the Presidential Aircraft.

Upon arrival at Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II International Airport in provincial capital Palembang, the Head of State is slated to head to Muara Enim regency on Air Force’s Super Puma Helicopter to lead the groundbreaking of coal downstream project to produce Dimethyl Ether (DME).

Afterwards, he is slated to visit Tanjung Enim Market to distribute cash assistances to the vendors.

President Jokowi is also scheduled to head to Pagar Alam City on Air Force’s Super Puma Helicopter to inspect the progress made by the local government in green energy city project and to distribute cash assistances to vendors at Dempo Permai Market, Pagar Alam City before returning to Palembang.

President Jokowi and the entourage are also slated to carry on the working visit to Riau Islands province.

Joining the President during the visit were Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arifin Tasrif, Minister of State-owned Enterprises Erick Thohir, Minister of Investment / Head of the Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Bahlil Lahadalia, and Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung.
