Gov’t Kicks off Recognition of Prior Learning Program for Villages
Ministry of Villages, Development of Underdeveloped Regions, and Transmigration has launched Recognition of Prior Learning program for villages.
With this program, work experience from village human resources, such as village heads, village officials, village assistants, administrators of Village Owned Enterprises (BUMDesa) and Joint BUMDesa can be equated with lecture material at universities with various study programs, and can be used for obtaining a bachelor’s degree or doctoral degree.
“Bojonegoro is the first region [implementing the program]. It reflects the Bojonegoro Regent’s support to develop human resources. The program is also supported by all stakeholders,” Minister of Villages, Development of Underdeveloped Regions, and Transmigration Abdul Halim Iskandar said on Sunday (02/20).
The Minister said that every village has the opportunity to register four participants in the program, which will start in March 2022, so that the total number of participants in Bojonegoro Regency is 1,676.
The requirements for the participants are high school diploma or its equivalence, working experience of at least 5 years and being aged between 25 and 50.
In the meantime, Regent of Bojonegoro Anna Mu’awanah said that the Municipal Government would carry out monitoring and evaluation during the implementation of the program and will conduct a tracer study.
For the record, the Program is carried out in order to support the acceleration of the implementation of village development and empowerment of rural communities, and accelerate the progress and self-sufficiency of villages.
The program is implemented in accordance with a Memorandum of Understanding between Ministry of Villages, Development of Underdeveloped Regions, and Transmigration, Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology.
The program is also part of a collaboration between Ministry of Villages, Development of Underdeveloped Regions, and Transmigration and the Higher Education Forum for Villages (Pertides). (PR of Villages, Development of Underdeveloped Regions, and Transmigration/UN) (RI/LW)
