Gov’t to Distribute Cash Assistance to Street Vendors, Fishermen

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto Monday (03/07) announced that the Government this year is set to disbursed cash assistance for street vendors, stalls, and fishermen (BT-PKLWN).

“We have prepared for 2.76 million beneficiaries. One million of street vendors / stalls and 1.76 millions of fishermen,” Airlangga said in a press statement after attending the limited cabinet meeting on evaluation of public activity restrictions (PPKM) held virtually.

The cash assistance, the Minister added, will be distributed by the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) and National Police (Polri) in 212 priority regencies / cities for the 2022 Extreme Poverty Alleviation program.

“(It will be distributed) by the TNI and Polri at the amount of Rp600 thousand per person,” he said.

In addition, Airlangga stated the Government would extend the three percent interest subsidy for people’s business credit (KUR) until December 2022.

“The additional budget needed is Rp33 trillion and the total KUR subsidy budget in 2022 is Rp11.97 trillion and the budget is taken from the National Economic Recovery (PEN) fund,” he remarked. (FID/UN) (GWH/EP)
