President Jokowi on Third Term: We Have to Comply with Constitution

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Wednesday (03/30) has called on all elements to comply with the Constitution which clearly regulates the presidential term of office.

The statement was made by the President after inspecting Borobudur Temple in Magelang regency, Central Java province, when responding to the aspirations of the people who wanted him to become President for a third term.

“I have often heard of it, be it the will or the voices of the people. Nevertheless, what the Constitution states is already clear. We must comply with and obey the Constitution,” President Jokowi remarked.

Previously, on his way from Yogyakarta International Airport to Baledono Market in Purworejo regency, to People’s Market in Magelang regency, many people—who witnessed the President—shouted about a third term. (BPMI Presidential Secretariat/UN) (GWH/MUR)
