Remarks of President of the Republic of Indonesia during the Inauguration of Brebes-Tegal Ring Road, in Brebes Regency, Central Java Province, April 13, 2022

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim.

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

Alhamdulillah, today the 17.4-kilometer Brebes-Tegal Ring Road has been completed. The road is equipped with eight bridges; five bridges in Brebes and three bridges in Tegal. The ring road completes the structure of the national road net along Northern Coast of Java and the road net of Trans Java Toll Road.

We know that the traffic congestion in Brebes and Tegal is severe. Since a long time ago, the traffic is so heavy, particularly during mudik (homecoming ritual) prior to Eid al-Fitr and New Year, and other holidays. By operating the Brebes-Tegal ring road, the traffic is estimated to decrease up to 48 percent, the connectivity will be better, and the traffic flow in Tegal and Brebes will be smoother.

We know that Northern Coast of Java is a very important track to make smooth traffic flow, especially during homecoming ritual prior to Eid al-Fitr. The road will be one of the alternative tracks for homecoming ritual prior to Eid al-Fitr, so the people will have smoother and faster traveling to get to the destination.

I think that concludes my remarks on this good occasion. And, by saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, today, I inaugurate the Brebes-Tegal Ring Road.
