President Jokowi Orders Foreign Ministry, Ambassador to Help Returning W. Java Governor’s Son Body

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, Thursday (06/09), instructed Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Indonesian Ambassador to Switzerland to support the process to return the remains of Emmeril Kahn Mumtadz, the son of West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil, to Indonesia.

“Two days ago, I had talked to Ridwan Kamil to extend my deep condolences. Thank God, alhamdulillah, the body has been found,” the President said after an inauguration of Runpin Nursery Center, in Bogor, West Java province, Friday (06/10).

Yesterday (06/09), Indonesian Ambassador to Switzerland Muliaman Hadad announced that Bern Police has recovered an unidentified body at the Engehalde water dam in Bern at 06.50 a.m. local time. The police forensic team then identified the body and traced its DNA.

“On Thursday (09/09) afternoon, the police confirmed that the DNA of the body found yesterday matched with Emmeril Kahn Mumtadz’s, known as Eril,” Muliaman Hadad said in a press conference.

For the record, Emmeril Kahn Mumtadz, went missing after being swept away while swimming in Aare River, Bern city, Switzerland, on Thurday (05/26). (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat /UN) (RAS/HD)
