Statement of President of the Republic of Indonesia Over Passing of Emmeril Kahn Mumtadz, at the Merdeka Palace, DKI Jakarta Province, June 4, 2022

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

Mr. and Mrs. Ridwan Kamil as well as the extended family.

First of all, on behalf of myself, the nation, and the state, I would like to express my sincere condolences for the passing of Emmeril Kahn Mumtadz.

Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun (Verily, to God we belong and verily, to Him we shall return). May he be given the best place by His side. As a parent, I cannot imagine how heavy the feelings and the burdens that must be carried and faced by Mr. Ridwan Kamil and Mrs. Atalia. However, I see the endless patience and fortitude in both of them in facing the loss. This is an example for all of us.

Once again, I offer my deepest condolences. May the family be given patience and heartiness. To God we belong and to Him we shall return.
