President Jokowi Holds Bilateral Meeting with President Macron

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and French President Emmanuel Macron Monday (06/27) held a bilateral meeting to discuss current Ukraine’s situation and issues related the Indonesian G20 Presidency on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in Elmau, Germany.

On that occasion, President Jokowi expressed his appreciation to President Macron for his efforts to seek peace in Ukraine.

“We all know that the situation is complex. However, we will continue trying to solve the problems peacefully. If war continues, world’s food crisis will be getting worse,” the President added.

On the Indonesian G20 Presidency, President Jokowi also expressed his gratitude to President Macron for his support for Indonesia to succeed the presidency.

Furthermore, the President revealed measures to President Macron in strengthening bilateral partnership between Indonesian and France in economic, defense, strategic industry sectors.

Joining the President during the bilateral meeting were Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi and Indonesian Ambassador to Germany Arif Havas Oegroseno. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/UN) (AP/HD)
