First Lady Iriana Jokowi Distributes Aids to Hospital in Kyiv
First Lady Ibu Iriana Jokowi Wednesday (06/29) symbolically handed over humanitarian aids in the form of medicine to the Ukrainian Center for Endocrine Surgery, Endocrine Organs and Tissue Transplantation in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv.
The aids were given during the visit of President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and the First Lady to a hospital in downtown Kyiv following their visit to Lipky Apartment in Irpin city.
“Bapak Jokowi and I provided a little assistance to a hospital for victims of war,” the First Lady said while expressing hope that the war ends soon.
“Bismillah, I accompanied Bapak [Jokowi]. I hope this war will end soon because it’s heartbreaking seeing it,” she said.
In addition to the humanitarian aids given today to the hospital, the Indonesian Government also gave assistance to the Ukrainian Red Cross and assured commitment to rebuilding war-torn hospitals.
“Besides the symbolic assistance given by the First Lady, the Indonesian Government also gave aids to the Ukrainian Red Cross and is also committed to helping rebuild war-torn hospitals,” Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi said on a separate occasion.
