Indonesia Books Rp23.2 Billion on Trade Mission to Qatar
Indonesia Monday (10/10) managed to record a potential trade transaction of Rp23.2 billion in value during business matching in Doha, Qatar, Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan has said.
According to the Minister, the total amount is sourced from beauty and hospitality products, spices and seasonings, snacks and processed foods, frozen fish, garments, and handicrafts.
The Minister also said that the amount still has the potential to record a  significant growth in line with various follow-up actions of business actors after the trade mission which was attended by eleven Indonesian business actors and forty-two Qatari business actors.
“The value has a growth potential, considering that business actors are still following up on requests from potential partners during the business matching,” he said.
On that occasion, the Minister also mentioned Indonesia’s mainstay products brought in the trade mission, such as palm oil and its derivatives, paper products, automotive, batteries, food and beverages, home decorations, handicraft products, garments, and beauty products.
Meanwhile, during the opening of Indonesia–Qatar Business Forum, Zulkifli said that trade between Indonesia and Qatar must be strengthened through synergy and collaboration between business actors from the two countries.
“Indonesia and Qatar have established diplomatic relations since 1976 until now. Under the leadership of President Jokowi and His Highness the Emir Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, the two countries agreed to strengthen cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, and tourism. Hopefully, through this cooperation, the collaboration and synergy between the two nations can be even stronger,” Zulkifli said.
The Minister also pointed out that Indonesia is a country with great potentials as an investment destination.
“Based on economic growth and population, Indonesia has enormous potentials to be an investment destination,” he remarked. (PR of Trade Ministry/UN) (RIF/EP)
