Vice President Ma’ruf Amin Begins Working Visit to Singapore

Vice President Ma’ruf Amin Monday (10/17) departed from Jakarta to Singapore for a working visit.

Indonesian presidential aircraft that carried the Vice President and his entourage took off from Halim Perdanakusuma airport in East Jakarta at around 13:30 Western Indonesian Time.

Upon his arrival at Changi airport at 15:45 local time, Vice President Ma’ruf Amin was welcomed by Indonesian Ambassador for Singapore Suryo Pratomo and Indonesian Defense Attaché in Singapore Achmad Zailani.

In Singapore, the Vice President is scheduled to meet Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore Lawrence Wong at Parliament of Singapore, Tuesday (10/18) to discuss relations between the two countries.

Prior his meeting with Deputy PM of Singapore, Vice President Ma’ruf Amin is slated to have a dialogue with Indonesian diaspora in Singapore in Nusantara Room of the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore.

For the record, Singapore has become the closest friendly country to Indonesia since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries on September 7, 1967.

Geographically, Indonesia and Singapore share the same maritime borders, encouraging cooperation between the two countries in various fields.

Bilateral relations between the two countries have developed well in positive and constructive manners. The good relations are reflected in the intensity of mutual visits between leaders and high-ranking officials of the two countries that continue to increase from year to year.
