VP Ma’ruf Amin to Visit Four Provinces in Papua
Vice President Ma’ruf Amin Monday (11/28) headed to Papua provincial capital of Jayapura to start working visit to four provinces in the region, namely Papua, South Papua, Central Papua and West Papua provinces.
The Vice President also serves as Chairperson of the Steering Committee for the Acceleration of Special Autonomy for Papua (BP3OKP) or the Papua Steering Committee (BPP) that focuses on the Government’s efforts to accelerate welfare development in Papua.
“The main agenda of the Vice President’s working visit is to hold discussions regarding the implementation of the Papua Special Autonomy together with the ranks of the Papuan People’s Representative Council (DPRP), the Papuan People’s Council (MRP), the Regional Secretary of the Papua Province and staff. He will also inspect the secretariat room of the Papua Steering Committee (BPP),” Secretariat of the Vice President stated in a release.
In addition, the Vice President will also inspect the Independence Exhibition for Community Vocational Training Centers (BLK) and hand over social assistance in the form of business assistance or people’s business credit (KUR) from Bank Papua and Himbara banks (state-owned bank associations) as well as assistance to Orang Asli Papua (OAP) by the National Amil Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) of Papua Province.
The Vice President will also symbolically hand over the Business Identification Number (NIB) and vocational certificate and meet the people and children of Papua.
Furthermore, the Vice President will continue his working visit to several regions, including Merauke, Timika, Kaimana, and Biak.
Through this working visit, the Vice President would like to formulate a comprehensive strategy to encourage Papua’s leading commodities in the agricultural, tourism, fisheries and creative economy sectors.
