8 Dead Convicts Have BeenEexecuted, Mary Jane Cancel

As many as eight of the nine sentenced to death in drug cases have been executed simultaneously in Lapanagan Tembak Tunggal Panaluan, Nusakambangan, Cilacap, Central Java, on Wednesday, at 00:25 pm.

The eight death row inmates namely Andrew Chan (Australian citizen), Myuran Sukumaran (Australia), Raheem Agbaje Salami (Nigeria), Zainal Abidin (Indonesia), Rodrigo Gularte (Brazil), Silvester Obiekwe Nwaolise alias Mustafa (Nigeria), Martin Anderson aka Belo (Ghana), and Okwudili Oyatanze (Nigeria).

While the execution of death row inmates from the Philippines, Mary Jane Fiesta Veloso, who was ready in the isolation room Penitentiary (Lapas) Nusakambangan postponed.

The Center for Information Law (Kapuspenkum) Attorney General, Tony Tribagus Spontana said the delay execution of Mary Jane Fiesta Veloso as demand from President of the Philippines Benigno Aquino III.

“Execution of Mary Jane was postponed due to the request of the President of the Philippines,” Head of Information Law (Kapuspenkum) Attorney General Tony Tribagus Spontana said in Jakarta, Wednesday (29/4) morning.
