On his working visit to West Java province, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Monday (12/05) inspected Darul Falah Islamic Boarding School located in Jambudipa village, Warungkondang district, Cianjur regency.

Darul Falah Boarding School is one of educational institutions in the regency which was ruined by the earthquake.

Upon arrival at 09.55 Western Indonesian Time, the President, accompanied by Chairperson of Darul Falah Islamic Boarding School Foundation K.H. M. Choirul Anam, immediately inspected several quake-affected spaces, including the mosque, students’ dormitories, the kitchen, and the kiai’s (Islamic teachers) house.

On that occasion, the President also greeted and distributed assistance to the students and refugees around the school area.

In the meantime, Chairperson of Darul Falah Islamic Boarding School Foundation K.H. M. Choirul Anam, expressed hope that the damaged building can be revamped immediately, including the Jami’ Uswatun Hasanah Mosque, which is the first mosque in Jambudipa village and the only mosque used by local residents to perform Friday prayer.

The foundation’s chairperson also expected to get concrete benefits from the President’s visit to Darul Falah School and the community around the school.

In addition, he also requested trauma-healing sessions for the refugees following the earthquake.

“Hopefully, the post-earthquake recovery will be completed quickly. Trauma healing is also pivotal for both children and adults since there are still aftershocks. People are afraid to stay at home or stay in the mosque for too long. I hope this will be over quickly,” he said. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/AIT) (RIF/MMB)
