Cabinet Secretary: State Civil Apparatus Must Maintain Neutrality in 2024 Elections
Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung has reminded state civil apparatus at Cabinet Secretariat to maintain neutrality as the country will have general and regional elections in 2024.
“As someone who works at the President’s main office, who provides service to the President daily, as state civil apparatus, you must truly maintain neutrality,” he said to all Cabinet Secretariat employees in Jakarta, Monday (12/19).
Pramono also reminded his employees to not get involved in practical politics while stressing that he is committed to give them freedom to use their vote in the upcoming elections.
“Although I am from a political party, I have proven for the past five periods that I have never used my authority to influence you all. I give Cabinet Secretariat complete freedom to vote for anyone as the president, members of the parliament, and regional heads, and so on,” he said.
Pramono also urged his employees to be wise and uphold the code of conduct when using social media, especially in a political period.
“You must maintain this spirit, this dignity. Do control yourself when you use social media. Do not do something that state civil apparatus must not do,” he remarked. (MAY/UN) (DH/MMB)
