Gov’t Launches Corruption Prevention Actions for 2023-2024

In a bid to prevent and eradicate corruption, the Government Tuesday (12/20) launched the 2023-2024 Corruption Prevention Actions (Aksi PK) program.

“The Government have made various efforts to prevent and tackle corruption, namely policies and regulations restructuring, be it in instructions, directives and laws and regulations; improving governance and public service; transparency and accountability in managing state finances, including saving state finances or assets,” Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri stated at the launch in Jakarta.

According to Firli, prevention efforts play an important role in corruption eradication process and the commitment of each stakeholder largely determines the success or failure of the efforts.

“Through prevention, there will be no gaps for corruption and we can save potential state losses,” he added.

The 2023-2024 Corruption Prevention Actions will involve 76 ministries/agencies, 34 provincial governments, as well as 68 regencies/municipalities and consists of 15 actions, namely:

1. Acceleration of Resolving Inconsistencies in Space Utilization and Overlapping Land-Based Permits through Implementation of the One Map Policy,
2. Export Import Control,
3. Improving Quality of Data Beneficiaries and Utilization for Licensing Procurement of Goods/Services,
4. Improvement of Governance in Port Area,
5. Acceleration of Digitizing Certification Process to Support Ease of Doing Business,
6. Strengthening Budget Planning Digitalization at the Central, Regional, and Village Levels,
7. Improving Effectiveness of Corruption Prevention in Procurement of Goods and Services,
8. Optimization of Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) through intensification and extensification in the Mineral and Coal sub-sector,
9. Central Asset Management,
10. Strengthening Political Parties in Preventing Corruption,
11. Optimizing National Identification Number (NIK)-Based Data Interoperability for Government Programs,
12. Strengthening the Government Internal Supervisory Apparatus (APIP) in Supervising Government Programs,
13. Strengthening the Criminal Case Handling System,
14. Optimizing Village Financial Supervision and Village Asset Management, and
15. Strengthening the Integration of State Civil Apparatus Information Systems (ASN).

Meanwhile, Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reforms (PANRB) Abdullah Azwar Anas stated the importance of digitalization as one of the efforts to fight corruption in the country.

Citing the Ministry’s goods and services procurement program e-catalog, Azwar said that apart from encouraging spending on local products, the program is also one of the Government’s efforts to prevent corruption since it makes the budget utilization more transparent, open, and measurable.

Azwar also added that there are programs of the Ministry’s in line with the KPK’s actions program, among others, strengthening APIP and Electronic-Based Government Systems (SPBE) and optimizing Regional Government Information Systems (SIPD) to integrate various regional financial plans.
