President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Thursday (02/02) inaugurated Singaraja-Mengwitani shortcut road in Buleleng, Bali.

Citing Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing’s data, the 5.68 kilometer shortcut road has been constructed since 2018 with a cost of Rp396.7 billion.

The shortcut road is expected to provide benefits for surrounding communities, including reducing the travel distance by 0.87 kilometers, travel duration by up to 45 minutes, and the number of bends to mere nine bends.

In addition, the shortcut will also reduce the level of slope to a maximum of 6 percent. For the record, the slope level of existing road on Mengwitani-Singaraja road is 27 percent. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/UN) (GWH/HD/LW)
