President Jokowi Inaugurates Shrimp Pond in Kebumen Regency

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo (Jokowi) inaugurated the Area-Based Shrimp Cultivation Pond (BUBK) located in Plesung village, Karangrejo, Kebumen regency, Central Java province, Thursday (03/09).

“By saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, this afternoon I inaugurated an Area-Based Shrimp Cultivation Pond in Kebumen regency, Central Java province,” said the President.

This 60-hectare shrimp pond is projected to produce 40 tons of shrimp per hectare.

“We hope that one hectare will produce more than 40 tons. This area had spent a budget of Rp175 billion,” he said.

The President also encouraged that the modern aquaculture management implemented in the area can become a model for other regions in the country.

“We hope this will be a good example for vannamei shrimp cultivation which requires clean water and detailed management. We hope this will be an example for others,” he remarked. (TGH/UN) (EST/LW)
