Gov’t Boosts Domestic Product Use Intensification

In a bid to boost the Domestic Product Use Intensification (P3DN) at ministries/agencies, regional governments, state-owned enterprises, as well as region-owned enterprises, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Wednesday (03/15) called on his administrations to formulate the provision of rewards and sanctions for state institutions related to the purchase of domestic products in procurement of goods and services.

“The sanctions should be formulated, please Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment formulate the punishments for those that still purchase imported products by using State Budget, Regional Budget,” President Jokowi said while delivering his remarks at the Opening of the 2023 Domestic Product Business Matching at Istora Senayan in Jakarta.

Through the implementation of reward and sanction system, the use of domestic products in state institutions including at the national, regional levels can continue to be increased, according to the President.

On that occasion, President Jokowi also ordered Minister of State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reforms to formulate performance allowance based on the number of the use of domestic products in every state institution.

Furthermore, the President reiterated that the administrations have to stay vigilant over repackaged imported products that are labeled as domestic products.

“Don’t let me hear that only the cover is changed, while the inside remains imported goods, repackaged goods. Don’t you think that I don’t know about it. Be careful. I order the Indonesian National Police to thoroughly check it,” he remarked. (TGH/UN) (AP/MUR)
