Gov’t Issues Regulation on Kura Kura Bali SEZ

The Government has issued Government Regulation Number 23 of 2023 on Kura Kura Bali Special Economic Zone (SEZ), which is a 498-hectare area located in the Balinese provincial capital of Denpasar.

The development of the SEZ itself is aimed at providing more jobs and boosting regional development in the city to support regional, national economic development through tourism and creative industry sectors.

Based on the regulation, the SEZ National Council has appointed a business entity for the development and management of the SEZ within a maximum period of 30 days from the effective date of the regulation on April 5, 2023.

This business entity is responsible for financing the development and management of the SEZ.

The SEZ National Council will also evaluate the completion of the development and operational readiness of the SEZ carried out by the said business entity. (UN) (AP/EP)
