Your Excellency Chancellor Olaf Scholz,
Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen,

Welcome to the Indonesian Pavilion, a pavilion designed to take the shape of Indonesia’s traditional Pinisi boat.

We would like to display “the Indonesia’s spirit to sail to the future in addressing future challenges”. The Pinisi has a compass called “Making Indonesia 4.0”, a road map that navigates industrial transformation in the country.

I’d like to invite you to visit the Indonesian Pavilion and consider Indonesia a land of opportunities and a future manufacturing hub. The Pinisi has two masts and seven small sails.

The masts display two foundations of Indonesia’s transformation of industrial downstreaming and acceleration of clean energy transition, while the seven sails showcase seven priority sectors in the exhibition such as food, textiles, automotive, electronics, chemicals, medical devices, and pharmaceuticals.

Acceleration of Indonesia’s clean energy transition will lead to the revival of both regional economy and global economy. Hence, with the spirit of an infinite journey, let’s join hands and push for industrial transformation for a better world.

Investing in Indonesia paves the way for a brighter future.

Without further ado, I hereby officially open the Indonesian Pavilion at the 2023 Hannover Messe.

I thank you.
