President Jokowi Visits Indonesian Fifth President Megawati Soekarnoputri for Silaturahmi

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and First Lady Ibu Iriana Thursday (04/27) visit the residence of Indonesian Fifth President Megawati Soekarnoputri in Jakarta.

Upon arrival at 09:45 local time, President Jokowi and Ibu Iriana were welcomed by the Fifth President and Secretary General of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto.

“In such friendly and intimate conversation, the two leaders wished a happy Eid al-Fitr to each other,” Hasto said after the meeting.

Furthermore, Hasto noted that paying a visit in the Eid’s atmosphere is a wonderful tradition and reflect the spirit of brotherhood. “Ibu Megawati Soekarnoputri also recounts President Jokowi’s grandchild, Jan Ethes, who always talks about [Indonesian First President] Bung Karno,” he added.
