Teten: Total Ready to Accept Decision of Transfer of Mahakam Block to Pertamina
The member of Team Communication of President, Teten Masduki straighten the news from a number of mass media-related the meeting between the Boss (CEO) of Total Group, Patrick Pouyanne with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), at the State Palace, Jakarta, Friday (15/5) afternoon.
Some mass media preached that in the meeting attended by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sudirman Said, the Total Group given the opportunity to continue the work on the Mahakam Block that should have ended in 2017.
Teten recognized, that the meeting discussed several aspects related to the Mahakam block, which will end the contract in 2017. One of the aspects discussed that the transition of Mahakam Block from Total E & P Indonesie to PT Pertamina (Persero) on January 1, 2018.
However, Teten straighten the news that mentions that the Total Group given the opportunity to continue the work Mahakam Block. “The truth is Total said to the President that Total is ready to accept the decision if the Mahakam Block will be operated by Pertamina,” Teten said via short message yesterday.
During the meeting, Teten continued, Total also said that his party is ready to escort the transition period for Pertamina, in order after the transfer, Pertamina ready to become operators, and there are no obstacles included in the transfer of information and technology.

Previuosly, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sudirman Said says, in the meeting with President Jokowi, Total is committed to keep investing in Indonesia.
“They convey two things, first they expressed their commitment to continue to invest after being in Indonesia for more than 50 years, and they also expressed wish to be here to keep building oil and gas in Indonesia,” Sudirman Said expressed.
Sudirman added, the total understands that Indonesia wants the National Owned Company (NOC), ie Pertamina to continue the management of the Mahakam Block as operator. “The President gave at the latest one month from now there should be a mutually beneficial agreement,” Sudirman added.
