The Government will issue a Golden Visa policy to attract high-quality talents from various types of fields, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno has said.

“Golden Visa is a new policy that we will launch soon. It is expected to attract more quality talents in the fields of digitalization, health, as well as research and technology,” Sandi said after attending a limited meeting on Golden Visa policy for foreign citizens at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Monday (05/29).

Sandi said that the world needs many new talents, one of which is in the field of digital economy. For this reason, he expressed hope that the Golden Visa policy can open up jobs and at the same time can make Indonesia as an epicentrum of the economic growth.

“We hope this policy can make Indonesia as an epicentrum of the economic growth in the future, including sustainability,” he said, adding that this policy is also expected to bring significant changes to Indonesia and to attract investment in the country.

“We expect this Golden Visa, which will last 5 to 10 years, becomes a game changer, becomes something different and will bring the so-called digital nomads as well as digital entrepreneurs who will invest in Indonesia,” he said.

Regarding the legal umbrella of this policy, Sandi stated that Ministry of Law and Human Rights will prepare for it, including its derivative regulations.

“Since it is related to the visa policy, Ministry of Law and Human Rights will announce the legal umbrella as well as its derivative regulations,” he said. (TGH/UN) (EST/MUR)
