President Jokowi Opens 2023 Jakarta Fair Kemayoran
President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Wednesday (06/14) officially opened the 2023 Jakarta Fair Kemayoran (JFK) at JI-Expo Kemayoran, Jakarta.
“The Jakarta Fair is well known among residents in Jakarta. The event is always anticipated by the people every year and it also marks the anniversary of Jakarta on June 22,” the President said.
For the record, the fair this year is entering its 54th edition and has become the largest, the longest, and the most extensive exhibition in Southeast Asia.
“Last year, it saw 6.9 million visitors with transactions of Rp7.3 trillion. A figure that is certainly not small,” he added.
The President wrapped up his remarks by congratulating the 496th anniversary of Jakarta.
“I would like to wish Jakarta a happy 496th anniversary,” he said.
The President then proceeded to beat the traditional drum to mark the opening of the fair.
The fair will be held from June 14 to July 16, 2023, featuring leading products from various industrial sectors, such as automotive, information technology, sports, fashion and apparel, cosmetics, home appliances and furniture, electronics, culinary, and others.
The event also presents the Jakarta Fair Music Concert, which features several top musicians and bands in the country, as well as other exciting entertainment. (FID/UN) (FI/EP)
